Comic Market 76 day three

jigoku

Like before, from 2ch so don’t believe everything etc etc etc.

Summary of events at day 3 of Comiket

  • Fake wallet containing only a 5 yen chocolate gets stolen
  • Brake problem arises on first train on Rinkai line
  • Somebody broke his leg while being pushed around on the over packed trains (no direct eye witness account)
  • Some kid thinks he’s a customer and shouts for the guy in charge to talk to him
  • Kid crashes into table causing DVDs and books to get ruined and put the goods up at half price, but their regulars still bought their goods despite the condition and they managed to sell everything
  • Somebody’s camera lens got stolen off his camera in the crowd
  • Wallet with 220,000 yen gets found
  • Comiket staff heard commenting that Touhou fans are really unruly
  • Via: こちらコミックマーケット総合 現地実況スレその168~174

Apparently day 3 didn’t have many problems because there were less kids (most were touhou fans because of nico). Post-Comiket 2ch thread is now largely about wanting to keep children out of Comiket. This is also the first time there is significant commotion about children at Comiket.

Also the customer thing, there were a number of discussions a while back about how the new people coming to comiket think they’re the customers and believe they should be treated like customers, but the idea behind comiket is that everybody there are participants and the “customer” does not exist.

Fake wallets are always a good idea.

How old are these kids? I’m all for taking the necessary measures to keep order, but older fans won’t be around forever.

Didn’t Konata complain about the costumer thing in one episode of Lucky Star?

    2. Savofenno Says:

Strange.. do not those many loli and shota dojin fans like kids? Or do they like only drawn ones?
And who are those Touhou fans anyway?

    3. Anonymous Says:

      HELL

      >How old are these kids?

Probably elementary and middle school-age kids.

    6. Mauru Says:

What is wrong with having kids at the event. In my opinion, makes the event more lively.

    7. Varion Says:

The brake problem one is definitely true, got stuck because of it for like 20 minutes. One guy in front apparently decided it was faster to walk and just got off.

    8. salmon triscuits Says:

“Lively” does not necessarily mean “better”. Heck, considering how crowded it gets, it could stand to be a great deal less “lively”.

      lol newcustomers versus oldparticipants

I now have a deeper appreciation of what Konata has said, lol.

OMG get off my la… I mean my booth space

    12. Blitzwing Says:

Yeah, middle school aged kids with their parents on day 3. What were they thinking?

Rinkai was just worse and worse every day. As an aside, I’m still amazed that no one has died yet, just because of the sheer numbers and statistics, you’d think someone would have had a heart attack or something.

    13. Shinikenshi Says:

It was certainly easier to just hop a taxi from a nearby station than toy with the Rinkai line.

I don’t think you could go ten feet at Comiket without seeing something 18+. I suppose up until now it’s just been commonsense, but I wonder if they will have to start enforcing age restrictions in some way.

    15. The Envoy Says:

A customer is a customer regardless of age.

      > A customer is a customer regardless of age.

But this shouldn’t matter. Comiket is theoretically intended to be more like an American con’s Artist Alley rather than its Dealers Room, but it’s progressively been evolving into the latter.

Time, tastes, and lollipops for all!

    17. Espr Says:

      Just take a taxi.

No rush, no fuss, and not really that expensive.

Plus you can get there before the train rush and get a good spot.
