Time Leap Paradise was released

Frontwing’s 3D eroge + dancing girl game Time Leap Paradise has been released and it completely exceeds expectations!
Game title is not displayed on the front of the game package
Back of the game box says that the game is 1 DVD, but inside the box are two dual layer DVDs and an apology letter for not being able to change the storage requirements in time
Minimum requirements on the official website say that the game needs more than 20gb of hdd space but actual installation is between 9~10gb
Takes a large amount of time to install
Game randomly crashes
If the player saves the game during the opening and loads again, the character models stop moving their lips in synch with the voice
Game manual does not explain the game objective or introduce any of the characters
Somebody got stuck at a point where the only area he can visit is the shopping arcade but he just loops back to the selection screen every time he selects the shopping arcade
Sound settings in the options do not work
It might not be possible to save or load in the game depending on the display resolution
Possible to have long range sex in H-scenes so both parties are not touching each other
Somebody had a complete black screen for the ending credits
Character randomly sinks into the stage and sing with her back facing the player for the entire song
Brown colored model randomly appears
Objects not where they are supposed to be
Ultimate spinning paradise (nico)

Well that’s a bit tragic. What are the potential consequences for missing a shipping deadline?

This is the best thing ever. I can’t decide which is better, giant-shadow-stalker-kun, floating-ghost-cup, or kitty-pride.

“What are the potential consequences for missing a shipping deadline?”
The producer loses face, the company loses sales, and over the short term the company could be short on operating funds (since many of these small companies run project-to-project without a huge cash reserve). Of course, the potential consequences of releasing a shoddy product are, in some ways, equally troubling, especially over the longer term. In the end, it’s like most of the rest of the PC gaming industry (even in North America) — it’s playable after the patch. As the eroge companies attempt to do more and more elaborate things (and thus bite off more than they can chew), this will become more problematic.

Depends on the stakes. If a company is running low on cash from developing an elaborate game (or if they have multiple games in development and the others won’t be released in quite some time), a missed date can sink the boat. Sometimes they just have to ship for cashflow reasons.
There’s also advertising and retail coordination to consider.

I thought in the case of eroge most developers ARE the publishers? It’s not like the animation industry where the IP owner (publisher) contracts the production house and say “You HAVE to deliver by so-and-so date because that’s when I told TV Osaka to broadcast it”.
With games, you just delay the release… no biggie, other than you pay your workers to work on a project that should have been done, instead of a new one.

They need money to meet payroll.

We’re looking at a game that was delayed from an original release date of 5/29 -> 7/24 -> 8/28. I think if they’d tried to push it further, heads would’ve rolled (more so than they will now?).

Does this beat Summer Days? Hard to say.

Oh man, Frontwing’s getting crucified!

brb buying 10 copies of this game.
August 27th, 2009 at 7:02 pm
Still buying it for dancing and lulz.
See guys, we’ll still buy it even if it’s buggy. I must say, the apology letter touched my heart and won my support for the short term.

This doesn’t beat Summer Days; the patch is only 713 megabytes.

Haha hilarious. I remember seeing this game’s trailer in stores when I was in Japan and was thinking it looked cool. I mean, it looked like Idolm@ster kinda but just with prons.
Not surprised that it turned out to be so buggy and low budget though.

>Possible to have long range sex in H-scenes so both parties are not touching each other
IT’S NOT A BUG, IT’S A FEATURE.
August 27th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Maybe now it’ll get a psp port.
August 27th, 2009 at 7:58 pm
That brown silhouette must be the cousin of the producer in Idolm@ster.

>Maybe now it’ll get a psp port.
It’d probably get the 360 port first.

I hope shadow stalker-kun becomes a 2chan meme.

The brown figure was me.
Yes, we District 9 aliens do play eroge. And act in them too.

It remeber me the release of a random mmorpg in beta, they need money so they opne the sale and they patch it several times before all work fine. :D

Even with my limited Japanese skills, I’m really growing fond of Nico comments.

It’s a pretty good game. Would be better if it LET ME SAVE.
It doesn’t let me save at ANY resolution, and thus it’s not all that fun starting over from scratch every time I boot it up.
anyone gots any clues?

Secretly co-developed with Bethesda Softworks.
