chuki

Korean music composer esti has reported on his twitter account that SeeD, the art director for the online golf game Pangya has passed away from an illness. SeeD had done a lot of the art in Pangya till sometime later in the middle of Season 3 when most of the art was done by nyanya while SeeD worked on the PSP version of Pangya. He has been working on an unannounced project recently.

SeeD’s website can be seen here, seems he was born in 1981.

I haven’t touched Pangya in a long time now, but I liked that artist.

Paying to get slapped by a girl is not unique

slap

Paying 1,000 yen to get slapped by a girl (both ways) is apparently not as uncommon as previously thought as Japanese blog Coffee Writer writes. This place called Akiba Hizamakura Nurse Station which specializes in head massages while you lie on a girl’s lap is also already offering the slapping service, at the same price of 1,000 yen for both ways too.

Maybe we just didn’t know about it, but it might already be normal in that industry to slap both ways at the standard price of 1,000 yen!

But there are apparently other more wonderful places in Akiba under the same company that owns Nurse Station:

extra

Latest Famitsu has revealed that Marvelous Entertainment is currently producing Fate/Extra, which is a dungeon crawler RPG based on Fate for the PSP. No real details on the game system are known yet. You can choose to play as a male or female character, and it looks like Rin and Shinji are in the game, also there’s a new Rider that’s different from the Stay Night Rider.

Staff:
Scenario supervision: Nasu Kinoko
Character design supervision: Takeuchi Takashi
Director: Kadowaki Shouetsu (Blue Dragon, Luminous Arc 2)
Producer: Ninou Kazuya (Sekaijyu no meikyuu, 7th Dragon)

Ninou Kazuya was also recently announced to be the director for Capcom’s upcoming RPG Last Ranker. Why is he working on two projects for two different companies at the same time anyway.

Idolmaster DS has sold 31,000 copies in its first week. I guess the reports from retailers that Idolmaster DS was completely eaten by Love Plus was true, Idolmaster DS had large amounts in preorder and sold about 20,000 on the first day but it was reportedly not too good after that.

Had to mention IM@S sales since I already posted about Love Plus and Dream C Club.

Currently:

  Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Total
Dream C Club 45,000 4,400 ?? ?? 50,000
Love Plus 46,000 15,000 12,000 - 73,000
Idolmaster DS 31,000 - - - 31,000

It looks like Love Plus might hit 100,000 after all.

Also there’s too much kissing in Love Plus. I wish there was a function to disable kissing.

Photos of her featured on nikkei of all places too. Article doesn’t have any details saying if she’s hired by Sega or something sadly.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be using Vocaloid 2 technology to allow players to make Boss sing. There will be a separate voice database for the Japanese and the English versions, and will make use of the SaaS service NetVOCALOID to synthesize the voices from a main server set up by Konami.
Via: ITmedia

Edit: The vocaloid technology will be used for the last boss “AI”, and it’ll use Kikuchi Yumi’s voice for the database.

Thanks to the comment that pointed this out.

Akiman art exhibition to be held in Maid Cafe

kami

Maid cafe Schatzkiste has announced that an art exhibition for Akiman (Street Fighter, Turn A Gundam) will be held in their cafe from the 10th of October to the 31st of October. No other details have been announced yet.

Akiman quit Capcom several years ago and is now holding an art exhibition in a maid cafe, Nishimura Kinu quit Capcom and is doing that new Chunsoft game. I wonder what BENGUS is up to now, haven’t seen his stuff in a while. I don’t even know if he’s still with Capcom.

Also, Yoshikawa Tatsuya has a new Capcom game. He’s probably the only Capcom illustrator still with Capcom now whose work I can still recognize.
