As soon as I drop my money on the last vol. DVD I’m sure. To bad I’m not planning on biting on this one. Gotta save up for that Kanon Blu-ray Box after all… -_-

Isn’t there something like Macrovision or something that prohibits public exhibition of blu-ray?
Not that it prevented cinemas from showing directly off DVD though (especially during filmfests) like in 3rd world countries.
I don’t know, it seems unprofessional, and yet it makes sense. I’ve seen some new age amateur flicks shot with the semipro 720p cameras, they’re still a little blurry. But at 1080p I don’t see much advantage of the traditional 35mm anymore (plus there’s no scratch marks).
I’m really wanting to buy some nice R1 blu-ray collection, but sadly the R1 anime DVD industry with the exception of Funimation is all but dead. If Geneon USA still existed I would have definitely picked up any blu-ray re-releases.
I just went to the store and all I see is Final Fantasy Advent Children as the only anime-related blu-ray offering. Fuck that.
