Tokimeki Memorial 4 announced for the PSP
Konami has announced Tokimeki Memorial 4 for the PSP. Nothing much is known now aside from that there will be 9 heroines and that the game needs blue hair, pink hair, and green hair characters to actually look like a Tokimemo game.
Also two of the heroines are introduced, Hoshikawa Maki (VA: Oogame Asuka) and Satsuki Yuu (VA: Takita Jyuri).

At last! I loved TMM 3 and will get this in a heartbeat. The addictive life-management gameplay plus the well written events made me a big fan of the concept. I can only hope that they will have slightly more appealing heroines in this installment, 3 was a bit disappointing in that respect.

didn’t someone ask for this just a few days ago during a Love Plus update?
whoever did it, please ask for a remake of Xenogears next.
See what happens.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
I know right. What is with the hair colors? Are they trying to use Enterbrain’s style of having more realistic hair colors? It’s not bad but it kinda looks bland with these character designs. The characters look like they lack so much personality in their designs alone too.

hoho, maybe this is where iga has been shoved!?

We’re not in the 90s anymore, bright multicolored animu hair went the way of belbottoms, platform shoes, and mullets of the eras.
Most serious eroge nowadays are the same, so I don’t mind.

anything after the original + drama series does not exist as far as i am concerned

I guess so. Even on that page he links to Japanese fans are like wtf the designs suck and all the faces look the same.

Wow, I’m quite glad that they ditched the purposefully dated look of TokiMemo3

Bah, Tokimemo 2 was excellent, and you’d be a fool to ignore it.
Good to see Konami supporting multiple platforms, though.

Although I’ll still buy this for the sheer fact that it’s Tokimemo, I just wished I could understand Japanese to actually know what I’m doing. Oh well, nice to see something good coming out of Konami other than crappy bemani games.

Yeah, I agree LegoTechnic. Tokimemo 2 is excellent. My favorite of the franchise by far. Truly an example of a sequel that far exceeds its predecessor.

^Agreed
Tokimemo 2 was the best of the franchise IMHO. It had the most memorable characters and events.

No. That’s just purely my opinion. I enjoyed the first one a lot too, but I liked the second more. That’s all.

I played the original on a SNES rom, but only later did I play it on the PS1, but this was after playing 1 and 3. I found the first one to be so boring. There were only a few events for each girl, and the girls lacked so much personality. Only 1 or 2 really had something. Tokimeki 1 was horrible and if anything should only be regarded for its influence in making the genre. It hasn’t aged well.
I think Konami’s less well known work, Mitsumete Knight is more like a Tokimeki 1.5, and kinda bridges the gap between Tokimemo 1 and 2 in gameplay and style and how that evolved.

It depends on what you’re looking for. TM1 was much more interesting and challenging as a sim, which is the entire basis of the product. IMO, the sentimental atmosphere was never replicated in the sequels either (which also suffered from increasingly disappointing music and character art).
If you’re playing the game for events though (TM2 integrated a few more adventure elements), TM1 is a poor choice.

Bill, you are so wrong. I think 3 had the best music so far in the franchise, and the character art in 2 was better than the in game art in the original by far. I will give it to you that I guess 1 is a little more challenging, but it’s pretty boring regardless because of the lack of things that happen when you play.
Anyway stop trolling faggot.

Oh no we have differing opinions! What shall we do.
September 17th, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Duke it out, of course!
Agreeing to disagree is for gays.

As a homosexual, I am deeply offended by your politically incorrect statements.
I shall sue you for being bigots.
September 19th, 2009 at 3:24 am
There are no gays on the internet.

“As a homosexual, I am deeply offended by your politically incorrect statements.”
Oh please, the word faggot wasn’t even used for gays until the 20th century. It’s not even “your” word so stop pretending that it is.
