Crayon Shin-chan creator Usui Yoshito (51) has been missing since the 11th of September after he told his family that he was going mountain hiking in Mount Arafune, and an unidentified body was found on the 19th which has now been confirmed by the police to be the body of Usui Yoshito.

It is believed he had fallen from the Tomoiwa cliff which was near the top of the mountain, his body was found about 120 meters below the cliff. There are no railings around the cliff, but it’s not near the hiking course and there have not been any accidents in that area recently.

Usui goes mountain climbing on a frequent basis apparently.

Eroge maker Teatime has announced Love Death 4 and revealed that it will be taking the Tech48 face recognition technology even further now, using the camera to detect shapes too.

Details about how the shape recognition is not known yet, but the example suggests that the character will recognize the male sexual organ and react to it.

I guess we might finally be coming to the age where eroge gamers will do hip exercises in front of their monitor while completely naked.

Konami has announced Tokimeki Memorial 4 for the PSP. Nothing much is known now aside from that there will be 9 heroines and that the game needs blue hair, pink hair, and green hair characters to actually look like a Tokimemo game.

Also two of the heroines are introduced, Hoshikawa Maki (VA: Oogame Asuka) and Satsuki Yuu (VA: Takita Jyuri).

Satou Shuuhou’s online pay manga service finally went live on the 7th of September and he reports that he has made 100,000 yen (1,100 USD) on the first day. He’s currently selling the newer chapters for his manga at about 30 yen (US$0.33) each while older chapters are at 10 yen (US$0.11) each.

It looks like if he can keep sales close to something like what he got in the first day he really can go independently without relying on a publisher like what he has been aiming for!

All that commotion online made it look like it would be able to break 100,000 but it’s just slightly higher than Dream Club. I hope it gets to break 100,000 in accumulated sales so Konami can stick around.

SNK has announced that the KOF STG game KOF Sky Stage will be released in arcades this winter and they will have a playable version of the game at the coming AM Show on the 17th to 19th of September.

I thought it was only going to be a cheap downloadable game on XBLA that everybody will forget about, but it’s going to be an actual arcade game! (that everybody will forget about)

Takarajimasha has started a new manga award called the Kono manga ga sugoi award.

The award will only take original submissions that have not been released yet, though original manga that were released as doujin or web comics are also allowed. Submission requires approximately 100 pages, 1st prize 8,000,000 yen (US$86,890), and professional mangaka are allowed to join too.

It looks like Takarajimasha is thinking of seriously getting into the manga publishing business as they state that all the manga that get an award will be published and there is a possibility of serialization.

They’ve also started a light novel award where the top prize is 5,000,000 yen (US$54,300).
