Nikkei Net reports that game company Atlus, in an effort to strengthen their online gaming business, has acquired Gonzo Rosso as a subsidiary. Atlus will be acquiring a 54.6% stake in Gonzo Rosso.

Gonzo Rosso was the only part of Gonzo that was still making a profit, so i guess it makes sense that some company would be interested in acquiring them.

Also Megaten strange journey is wonderful, I just wish I had more time so I can finish the game.

According to Yahoo news, the Osaka Prefectural Police has arrested a 25 year old man named Mishima Kazuya on the 23rd of October on suspicion of having grown marijuana on his roof. According to the police, Kazuya claims that it was left there by an acquaintance.

The police were tipped off by another acquaintance of Mishima Kazuya.

Producer Kawachi Atsunori explained the reason behind how the heroine costumes start showing more skin when they activate songs, saying that “By showing more skin, they are able to absorb more of the planet’s energy”. There were some small snickers coming from the audience after hearing this, but he continued saying

“The world can only be saved because the heroines took off their clothes!”

And everybody laughed and clapped their hands.

Looks like Ar Tonelico 3 will be a great game!

Ryukishi07 has announced on his diary that BT who has been working with 07th Expansion since the start of the Higurashi series has passed away to an unnamed illness on the 10th of July. He has been in charge of the 07th Expansion website as well as various scripting and debugging.

Ryukishi07 writes that BT was not only his best friend but also was his first reader, Higurashi and Umineko were almost like they were written just to surprise BT.

BT was also the person who suggested putting up Higurashi ep 1 for free download on the website, which caught the attention of a lot of people, and it was one of the main factors leading to Higurashi’s popularity now.

Fender has announced that they’ll be auctioning two Evangelion themed guitars built by Yuriy Shishkov on the 1st of December. The specifications on the guitars can be seen here.

The front page for Fender Japan is also now advertising the guitars by doing a cool parody of all the famous lines in Eva.

A new live action Toki wo kakeru shoujo movie will be going on cinemas in 2010, but a manga adaptation of the movie has already started on Young Ace magazine, and Japanese site Muhyojo has a short introduction on the story in the manga.

The story is about Yoshiyama Akari, who is the daughter of Yoshiyama Kazuko (the main heroine from the original Tokikake). Kazuko has been working on a type of medicine that can allow the user to do a time leap, and the project had just successfully completed.

Kazuko then chances upon an old photo which managed to restore her memories and starts running to get the time leap medicine but gets into a car accident. She wakes up at the hospital and tries to get out again, but Akari stops her, and Kazuko explains that all her research was to meet that man in the photo again.

Akari decides she will go back in time in place of her mother to send her mother’s message to that man.

Also Yoshiyama Kazuko was in her late thirties and single in the 2006 anime, so I guess all this isn’t taking place in the same universe.

I had completely forgotten about the upcoming movie already after posting about it way back in March.
