Ar Tonelico 3 announced for PS3

The two new girls are Saki (Gotou Mai), and Finnel (Kitamura Eri)
R.A.H system where players can make their own music. BGM changes in real time according to the player’s actions in battle
As your bonding with the girl improves, her inner power will be released and her attack level in battle increases, and even “release” the power of her costume. The example shows Finnel gaining increased powers by fighting without her skirt on.

I’m not overly excited about the character designs but the music/battle changes look interesting.
So much for the sequel featuring an older Cocona…

I don’t care about releasing the power of the costumes. I just want to release the costumes.

Bye bye, 2D. I’ll miss you.
Only Vanillaware and N1 are keeping up the good fight, huh. I don’t think I’ll keep playing RPGs once there are no 2D ones left…

It depends on what you grew up on. I’m from the PS1 generation, so 3D JRPGs are pretty much standard for me (i.e. FFVII and later).
I do have a preference for cel-shading, though. The third dimension really does contribute to more exploration options because of the added immersion. See Grandia 1 as an example of a game that put 3D to good use so you get ‘lost in dungeons’ (sprites were 2D though).

Another chance to hear more than just plain amazing music~ I’m totally up for it…after I save up for a PS3. >_>;;

>>Moogy & Booger
I’m from the Famicom-generation, and I’d love to see some more 2D. We could do so awesome 2D-art on the new consoles; but I don’t really care about graphics anyway - storytelling, characters, atmosphere and music are much more important.

The main guy looks (and sounds) a lot like Emiya.
I find this worrisome.

Should rather go with high-res sprites but oh well I guess after Atelier this had to happen.
Just hope they dont hand the localization to NIS(and we all know they will)to screw up another game.

>So much for the sequel featuring an older Cocona…
Don’t count that out yet. We still don’t know the ‘main’ RT that shows up halfway through the game (ie Shurelia, Jacquil).
And I bet in AT3 it’s going to be Cocona. (Or the partner Jacquil mentioned in the end when she sent Cocona off)

Please make a normal translation for this, Please make a normal translation for this, Please make a normal translation for this, Please make a normal translation for this which ain’t hides the naughtier parts of the game!!!!!

The flood has come no one could stop it now, than the360 will be drowned by the flood
October 14th, 2009 at 3:24 am
Yawn. The Sony Defense Force has been preaching that for 2 years now, and guess what, the 360 is still here. So is 2009 also the Year of the PS3? I guess every year is the Year of the PS3. :)
October 14th, 2009 at 3:51 am
wellllll to be fare PS3 is doing well in Japan (really well)
i might buy a PS3 in the near future… i think
October 14th, 2009 at 5:14 am
What are you talking about? I’m in Japan and I don’t see the PS3 dominating by any sort of margin.
October 14th, 2009 at 8:25 am
chances are indeed kokona might be the secret third reyvateil to this though so i wonder who will be the song vocals
October 14th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
yawn and the 360 defense force has been preaching for years that they’re on the verge of running away with the industry, is this the year that’s going to happen?
“What are you talking about? I’m in Japan and I don’t see the PS3 dominating by any sort of margin.”
versus the wii that owns all, no. versus the 360? then you’re either lying or haven’t been looking very hard.
“The 360 version will come.”
it might! seems unlikely though. Gust’s games aren’t really the type that will gain a whole heck of a lot from an increased western presence so the 360 is a rather pointless console to release on.
October 14th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
In actuality, NISA will be porting it to Wii for the North American release.
October 14th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
>though so i wonder who will be the song vocals
The same two people that were in the last two games. Unfortunately.

>though so i wonder who will be the song vocals
The same two people that were in the last two games. Thankfully.
Can’t wait for the OST, stupidly expensive Gust shop set here I come.
October 18th, 2009 at 12:55 am
Nooooo…. I don’t have a PS3 yet…
Must buy….

A 360 version will come out. Hopefully.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:29 am
An english version without deleting the ecchi parts will come out. Hopefully.

>A 360 version will come out. Hopefully.
Just keep on praying BandaiNamco’s porting-JRPGs-1-year-later-to-the-other-console policy is a two-way street.
October 21st, 2009 at 2:06 am
Bandai Namco were contractually obliged to put more stuff for the PS3 version.
But the policy of making a game multi-platform is already two-way. I don’t really see the need of having a loli pirate other than the novelty factor, and that’s about it. At least PS3 got the game, with something for the wait.

>An english version without deleting the ecchi parts will come out. Hopefully.
Don’t know why you would say that as the ecchi parts in the first two games were kept in [although it can be argued that they added more ecchi-ness in the English versions... the second game especially].
I’m hoping that NISA doesn’t really screw up the translation this time around, though hopefully with how MK2 and their recent games have turned out, I’m willing to believe that it was just a case of having a localization company equivalent of having a brain fart or something. It’s true that their translations aren’t perfect, but AT2 had a lot more typos than usual.
October 21st, 2009 at 2:01 pm
You kids can keep wishing for your ecchi in your translated releases, it won’t happen, not without the game being branded with an ADULT rating, which means even less stores would sell it due to policy and no company wants that. No, it will have to be mellowed down like the other ones.

As I say to the young ones: You should buy eroge for the story. If you just want to fap, it’s better to just download porn.
