Gonzo still slowly

shangrila

Gonzo has announced that they will cease all telephone customer support for their DVD releases starting from December 2009. If any customer still wishes to get any customer support after that point they should use the contact page on their website and send an email.

Also they canceled the single dvd release for Shangri-la 7 onwards and all that but everyone probably already knows that. I guess it wasn’t worth getting Range Murata to do the covers when the Shangri-la DVD releases can’t even get into the top 100 dvd sales rankings.

I read some interviews with Murata about how upsetting the cancellation of Mardock Scramble was after all the involvement that went into it. It would be interesting to hear how he feels about all this Shangri-la stuff now too.

I love the guys art but will be the first to admit that he needs to try and be a little more creative with his heroine designs. The same short hair, even if it is bright pink (???) still feels waaaaaay too Last Exile Lavi, and how much he reuses and adores that style in his Robot/Doujin work makes it harder to justify his newer stuff as it all starts feeling the same.

Saucy bankruptcy. Very saucy. Like curry. And chicken.

So how are we supposed to get the rest of the DVDs for Shangri-La?

  5. TJR Says:

Kadokawa is releasing the rest in a box set.

let them sub all their DVDs/Blu-Rays and release them world wide (at world or USA market price).

seem to have worked with Clannad and some other animes release by ADfilms (whatever their new name is) and Anime Works. Subbed DVDs *do* sale, so why not go that way?

It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

So like almost every Gonzo anime.

Not that I would have bought the Shangri-La DVDs because this show abused me like a bad wife but it is sad that this has to happen.
