Eroge characters comment on restrictions

The new eroge Shinobiryuu which was released on the 18th of December apparently has something to say about the entire eroge restrictions stuff that has been happening!
Before starting the game:
Declaration
This is a declaration made with the consensus of all the characters that appear in this story.
All the characters appearing in this game have gone through special training and all actions carried out are done on the basis of mutual agreement.
Even if you’re a inhuman person who believes that fictional characters in creative works do not have human rights, please do not ignore this.
We also thank all the kind people who see a character in the story saying phrases such as “help me” and take it as a real call for help.
However, even though you are worrying for the characters in the story, these are all lines spoken from a script.
They are not saying all this from the bottom of their hearts. We are sorry that they have put in so much effort into their acting that some people will confuse it as something that is really happening.
This game is a fictional story.
And this is from within the game itself where two characters are having a conversation:
Surprised Suigen Ninja:
I’ve recently learnt something that surprised meListening Suigen Ninja:
What is it?Surprised Suigen Ninja:
We, fictional characters, apparently have human rights.Listening Suigen Ninja:
Huh?Surprised Suigen Ninja:
There are apparently some special people that will get angry and show sympathy for us if we get raped. And they’ll start lobbying for us too.Listening Suigen Ninja:
Wow, we even can’t do anything ourselves without a creator or a player but we have human rightsSurprised Suigen Ninja:
Surprising isn’t it?Listening Suigen Ninja:
Yeah. But since they acknowledge that we have human rights, I wonder if they’ll acknowledge that we have the right to vote too. Our creators will work hard to do some political manipulation.Surprised Suigen Ninja:
We can’t be greedy. But well, since we have human rights we might as well suggest it.Listening Suigen Ninja:
You’re rightSurprised Suigen Ninja:
We’re doing as we please. Please stop taking unneccessary actions.

That’s a really creative way to deal with this issue… and especially a very funny one^^.
December 20th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
Good job.
December 20th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
This is the best.
December 20th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
That is awesome.
December 20th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
And here I promised myself I wouldn’t buy eroge anymore…
December 20th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
Satire? I didn’t think the Japanese had it. I am impressed.
December 20th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
LOL
December 20th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
shitty translation is shitty
December 20th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Sold!
December 20th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
LMAO
This is so awesome! XD
December 20th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
Well well well.
December 20th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
I find this “declaration” to be very dubious.
Maybe these “creators” are drawing and pointing fictional “guns” on these characters’ heads? Perhaps these characters are suffering from the “Stockholm Syndrome”.
Wake up, sheeple.

Koji Oe, you aren’t alone. ANNZac also wondered if the Japanese had biting satire, though he was referring to Japanese journalism at the time.
In any case, metahumor is always welcome. There’s something interesting about eroge game creators showing themselves more mature about an issue than their detractors.
December 20th, 2009 at 7:24 pm
That’s a nice way to deal with this.
December 20th, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Wow, for the first time ever I’m tempted to actually buy an eroge… this is genius!
(I especially like the part where they wonder if this means they can vote too)
December 20th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
That is absolutely fantastic. I hope other eroge makers follow suit.
December 20th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
the declaimer is important, the same declaimer that you get with racing games and movies (don’t try this at home kids).
even thought the declaimer is useless, it does provide a legal umbrella that can keep people who wish to blame *games* for the poor upbringing of *their* kids.
so yes, have a declaimer at the start of each eroge (each time the eroge is loaded, but the player can skip it by clicking), and let the girls in the eroge read it aloud.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE REBEL?!
REBEL 1!
ACTION!
December 21st, 2009 at 3:57 am
Needs a bit more fruit, 200 pounds of cordite, a tiger and a Norwegian Blue, but it’s hilarious.
I wonder if Monty Python was popular in Japan at one point.

Makes entire sense. People who believe in rating content, censoring it, “protecting” people from it are all operating from a false premise. You see, no one has ever shown that any harm whatsoever can come from viewing images, hearing sounds, or pressing buttons. Once you ignore that, and say you’re going to start making rules up based on how people FEEL about the content, there is no limit. Any thing can be banned if you don’t stand up to these pinheads and say “No. I refuse to restrict anyone from creating/experiencing any form of content until you can show me actual harm.”
December 21st, 2009 at 7:38 am
> We’re doing as we please. Please stop taking unneccessary actions.
You’re too nice, translating it like that. I’d personally interpret it as: “We’re doing it because we like it, so please just mind your own business.”
December 21st, 2009 at 9:58 am
Well, he’s translating as it is in the dialogue. They’re being rather polite in that last line.
December 21st, 2009 at 11:15 pm
Well this is one creative way to speak up.
December 22nd, 2009 at 11:33 am
>However, even though you are worrying for the characters in the
>story, these are all lines spoken from a script.
>They are not saying all this from the bottom of their hearts. We are
>sorry that they have put in so much effort into their acting that some
>people will confuse it as something that is really happening.
This sums it up. Awesome.
December 22nd, 2009 at 1:37 pm
Whats next?
Banning murders from movies, since they are both fiction and are both considered inhuman.
December 22nd, 2009 at 6:52 pm
The problem is the rape game in question states in it’s own disclaimer that the game isnt meant for people outside of Japan, the only reason anyone even knew about it was because someone was seeling a bootleg of it on eBay. So regardless of the sarcastic nature of the disclaimer and the script, no one that complains about these games will ever pay attention and simply haul off with a kneejerk reaction the same as they do with ANY controversial video game.
December 22nd, 2009 at 10:19 pm
@PN04: the fact that the disclaimer that says that the whole thing is a fantasy and that it is constitutive sex with all characters are over *21* is very important. Without it, it is a problem.
think of it as having the spare tyre in your car, it is there just in case you have a problem, otherwise, it is literally adding weight and increase the fuel consumption of your car.
December 23rd, 2009 at 12:36 am
People like “Heero” who say “Wow, for the first time ever I’m tempted to actually buy an eroge…” YOU ARE A BIG FAILURE.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:46 am
>even knew about it was because someone was seeling a bootleg of it on eBay
It was Amazon Marketplace and the hacked game with removed mosaics was a totally different case.
December 24th, 2009 at 8:59 am
I am amused by the Japenese game maker’s response to the ridiculous lawsuit.
I am amused by the people who state they will buy eroge just because of the game maker’s response.
I am even more amused by a person known as “Anonymous” who keeps attacking people and who knows the exact specifics of the case which caused this disclaimer to be included.
Now I shall go amuse myself by laughing at the assumption that “Anonymous” was the original idiot who raised a fuss in the first place. Isn’t it wonderful how the fuss that was raised caused more harm to the cause than benefit, and that it has done nothing to stop eroge being created, and in fact has increased the amount..? I love prude activists. ;)
December 24th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
I’d like to make a comparrison with early nude on TV years ago. Many complaints. Bottom line is; If you don’t like it, don’t watch it and switch to a channel you do like and/or enjoy. Same here. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. It sure isn’t good to advocate violence, but fiction is a good alternative to reality.
‘Anonymous’; You’re a joke. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. But do not start telling people what you think is good for them. Who do you think you are to decide for other people? People try that also with religion and considering all the wars that are going on in this world because of this, I think it is safe to say that you are on the wrong track and not achieving anything good with your actions. Live your own life and respect other people for deciding to live their life differently.
‘I am amused’: Well said my friend.
And just in case anyone wonders; I am a victim of sexual assault. I will not buy a game that advocates violent sex. But I rather have people play this game than that people will hurt someone else. Games like this are good for reducing sexual violence.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Joost, as a substitute, maybe. However, those are for the already interested in violent sex. People are arguing that the existence of such things nurture and corrupts those who are curious. Similar how porn corrupts youths, etc.
However, in both cases, authors and content shouldn’t hold any responsibility over the influence on young minds, or the stupid. The youths shouldn’t be viewing this stuff in the first place. If minors are viewing it, blame goes to the parents, not the motherfucking authors for distributing their creative property. How people use creative property (obtained through illegal channels in the case of youths) and damages done is their own damned business. That’s the way intellectual property has always worked.
Those who can’t differentiate between right and wrong, or those who are easily influenced deserve jail-time if they don’t know what proper restraint is. That’s all. People who act out on their fantasies and place blame on other people or influences are retards who can’t man up to their crimes and deserve jail time. Nuff said. They were too young to know better? They didn’t think it was wrong because a game said so? They should read the fine prints on most games warning and advising not to pull such shit at home or in reality.
Also, for all this shit about stereotyping, feminists sure are quick to jump the gun and assume anyone and everyone who gets off such things are EVIL to the bone. They should get off their high horse. EVERYONE is a little sadistic. Some are just more than others. It’s the actions, not the thoughts that count.
Also, if games are a bad influence, what about pop-culture? All songs and gangster rap videos, hoes dancing, and hoodlums jacking shit. I grew up with that crap in my face 24/7. That, however, didn’t influence me one bit. It just goes to prove that what people choose to do is of their own volition. If your kid’s stupid, then it’s likely his own fault. Don’t go around looking for imaginary causes and external influences. They likely don’t exist. Even if they did, parents are at fault for neglecting to raise the kid to be at least cognizant of the law.
