Today I was wondering why the gaming threads on 2ch were talking about some things that Kevin Butler said at E3 which I don’t remember at all. Then I realized that Impress AV watch had quoted Kevin Butler saying the following:
「ひきこもりでも大画面があれば楽しい。それこそが“ゲーミング”。夜中にゲームをクリアーし、トロフィーをゲット！ でもそれになんの価値もない。それこそが“ゲーミング”。楽しいじゃないか! 友達が素敵な彼女を作ったって? 大丈夫、君は負け組じゃない。ほら、”ゲーミング”があるじゃないか!」
Translation:
Even if you’re a hikikomori it’s fun as long as you have a large screen. That’s “gaming”. You completed the game in the middle of the night and got your trophy! But there’s no value in that. That’s “gaming”. That’s fun!
Your friend got an awesome girlfriend? That’s fine, you’re not a loser. You’ve got “gaming”!
Sure don’t remember him saying anything like that in the vid!
