A full page ad for Madoka was on this morning’s edition of Yomiuri Shimbun, the newspaper with the highest circulation in the world. It reminds everybody that the last episodes of the anime will be on air tonight.
Only costs between 30 million to 50 million yen for the ad!
– What’s your favorite battle scene?
My favorite is the fight between magical girls in episode 5. Sayaka and Kyouko are similar in that they’re both close range fighters, we tried to make their individual traits stand out. It might actually be more interesting if you watched it knowing the special traits for both sides.
Sayaka is a speed & power type, but her skill level is low. Kyouko is also a speed & power type, but her skill level is much higher so her attack power is higher than Sayaka. On the other hand Sayaka’s recovery speed and defence is much higher, while Kyouko’s defence power is low. If she gets hit by an attack she’s surprisingly fragile, she isn’t very good at defending.
– So what can you say about Homura as compared to Sayaka and Kyouko?
The setting is that Homura is actually quite weak as a magical girl, even Urobuchi said that she’s “no different from an ordinary girl”. Of course, after she transforms she’s slightly stronger than a normal girl, but amongst all the magical girls, she’s one of the weakest types.
So to make up for it, she uses a lot of different abilities and tricks. In episode 8 she could not escape from Kyouko’s hold so we know her ability is not teleportation. In episode 6 when she was chasing after Sayaka’s soul gem she was stopping time and running on foot. She’s a really special type of magical girl

Animate online shop is now selling registration of marriage forms for Hideyoshi from Bakatest and Mafuyu from Seitokai no ichizon.
Basically the forms are already filled in by the character and you just need to write your name and details on it and you’re married! Almost.
Goes for only 7,875 yen (US$92) and comes with a bed sheet with the character printed on it so you can sleep with him/her after getting married.
There’s also a Evangelion version but that one is just a form to sign up to join the support staff for the pilot and you can’t get married.
Hirano Aya’s official site has announced that she has gotten a regular spot on an upcoming late night variety show called Pikaru no teiri. Also at the same time she doesn’t have a regular spot on any anime for the coming autumn season.
She’s going to be on Downtown DX next week too, I guess she’s ready for normal TV now!
The official Kara no kyoukai website has announced that the Blu-ray disc box set will go on sale for 52,500 yen on the 2nd of February 2011 and it’ll contain a bonus disc with the final chapter of Kara no kyoukai (30 mins). There will also be a standalone dvd release for the final chapter that will go on sale on the same day for 4410 yen.
They made good their promise that they’ll properly animate the epilogue and not leave the story at chapter 7!
Also I guess there’s no hope of seeing Mana or Shizune now.

5pb president Shikura Chiyomaru has announced on twitter that Steins;Gate will be made into an anime.
Angel Beats had a full page ad on the Yomiuri newspaper today. It’s apparently only for the kantou region. Using the ad cost calculator by Yomiuri, this means the ad cost about 33 million yen (US$356,438) if they paid at full price without discounts.
There has to be something more than just a one season TV anime if they’re spending that kind of money on it. Either that or they really are thinking it’ll be huge hit.
Also without colors it just looks even more like Haruhi.
