Thursday, March 25th, 2010

precure

Toei has announced that there will be an all-night screening event for Precure on the 3rd of April in commemoration of the new Precure all-stars DX2 movie. The event will start at 17:30 and they’ll watch a bunch of Precure movies and end at 05:00 the next day.

However for this event, no children under the age of 18 are allowed to attend, not even if they have a guardian with them.

I guess they’re not even going to pretend that this is supposed to be a children’s show anymore!

sakotsu

Film strip showing Nagato’s collarbone sells for 356,000 yen (US$3,987) on Yahoo auctions

The cool thing recently is to give out film strips for repeated viewings of the same anime movie, and the other cool thing is to bid high money for it on Yahoo auctions.

Also it lost to Fate’s smile that was worth 532,000 yen.

Fate-chan love 2

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

nana

The one yahoo auction with the film containing Fate’s smile from the final scene in the Nanoha movie has ended at 532,000 yen (US$5,886).

People that watch the movie 3 times get a memorial film strip of 5 frames from random part of the movie, and this particular film strip shows the scene where Fate is wearing Nanoha’s ribbon and smiling.

Also it seems the seller of this film strip has already put 139 strips of film from the Nanoha movie on auction. I guess this is good business.

Guy: I’d like to tattoo a picture of Fate-chan on my back

Shop: Ahhh Fate-chan is nice isn’t she!! What age should she be at? What about the barrier jacket?

Guy: Elementary school version, and please come up with some different clothes instead of the barrier jacket. Bardiche will need to be in there.

Shop: Okay, I’ll let you know once it’s ready

Nanoha vs Fate

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

maou

Both Nanoha the movie and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works went on cinemas on the same day on the 23rd of January.

Nanoha was screened at 19 cinemas across Japan, accumulating 61,292,300 yen at the box office with 39,863 people having watched it. That means an average of approximately 3,220,000 yen per cinema in two days.

Fate/Stay Night was screened at 12 cinemas across Japan, accumulating 37,699,500 yen in the box office with 24,407 people watching it, coming to an average of approximately 3,140,000 yen per cinema over two days.

Also the sales of goods for Nanoha at Shinjuku Mirano 1 on the first day hit 11,959,025 yen (total sales for one cinema), which beat the record set by Evangelion by 167%.

It’s pretty hard to comment on anything when both movies are a big success.

ugly

Media Magic has announced that they’ll be releasing new Evangelion themed bicycles designed personally by Sadamoto Yoshiyuki, the character designer for the Evangelion series. They commissioned him to design the bikes as cycling is one of his hobbies apparently.

They’ll be called the EVA00BIKE type-r and EVA02BIKE type-a, modeled after Rei and Asuka respectively. They’ll go for 98,280 yen (US$1093) each and are slated to release in mid June.

Media Magic also released a EVA01BIKE in 2006 which wasn’t designed by Sadamoto and goes for half the price and possibly look cooler too.

Aftermath of Evangelion guitar auctions

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

hidoi

They ended at 9,082,000 yen for the Stratocaster and 7,761,000 yen for the Telecaster, but over 20 bidders on the Telecaster had their accounts suspended when it was determined they had no intention of paying, and after that there were numerous bid cancellations and the Telecaster ended up going at 3,050,000 yen.

The Stratocaster that ended at 9,082,000 yen on the other hand had over 50 bid cancellations and the auction itself was canceled.

Yahoo auctions has got the positive feedback system like on ebay, but it apparently wasn’t enough to stop this from happening.

One Piece officially licensed oppai mouse pad

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

hurricane

Online store Amiami has started taking preorders for One Piece oppai mouse pads by Morimotosangyou. Normally this wouldn’t be any interesting at all because doujin mouse pads do these kinds of things all the time, but it’s officially licensed this time!
