tengal

New idol unit “Tengal 6″, officially sponsored by Tenga
It’s apparently going to be a pure and innocent hip hop idol unit. Not much in details yet. My brain exploded thinking about it

Over 5000 circles have registered on twitcomike
You can find doujin circles on the map and it’ll have a short description on what they’ll have and also a link to their twitter account. As of writing over 6000 have registered

Chilled striped panties sold 10 times faster than normal striped panties
Normal striped panties was already an item that sells pretty well in their store, but the chilled striped panties has sold out in 3 days even though they had prepared enough stock to last for a month. Must have been because of the hot weather

Doujin circle Frontier Create has revealed that they’ll be releasing a Touhou music CD featuring Tashiro Masashi. What is he doing!? I guess he has no hope of returning to TV after getting out of jail and this is his new direction in life.

Also I guess Tashiro = Shameimaru = Voyeurism

Urotan’s Strike Witches manga on hiatus

Monday, July 26th, 2010

kadokawaaa

Urotan’s official Strike Witches manga had started on Comp Ace a while back but was already on hiatus.

Urotan has posted a notice on his site:

I’ll just report about what has been happening recently

It has been really disorganized right from the start when I took the job, and against my wishes I wasn’t given a chance to do any preparations in advance and they abruptly did that announcement notice about the manga even though everything was in a bad state.

Even then I wanted everybody to enjoy the manga so I desperately worked myself to death to get that first chapter out.

But under those adverse circumstances that single chapter was the limit.

Right now I finally got to get into direct contact with the anime staff, and I have currently established a good relationship with them.

But on the topic of continuing the serialization, I really want to do it but the various problems that came up previously has left a significant psychological exhaustion on me, and I have decided that as my mental state is currently still unable to return to normal, I have to temporarily give up on continuing the manga.

Right now I am just extremely regretful that I am unable to deliver an enjoyable manga to everybody at the current optimal timing.

What happens after this is currently undetermined, but right now I only hope to get a little time off.

I’m really sorry to have gotten everybody concerned and worried for me.

kakuto

MBAACC has finally been completed and they’re slowly working on the new 2D fighter, it’s still in planning stages and the pic above is the characters they’re thinking of for the new game.

They’re still deciding on the cast so it can be expected to change a lot. The game is in the early planning stages and it’ll be a very long time before the game will even be officially announced, much less completed.

Narita is still recruiting new dotters.

fuck

The new Maritan book will come with a shooting game by French Bread. They’ve apparently been slowly working on this for 4 years, a demo is available at the bottom of the website linked.

finally

Everybody has probably already forgotten about the horizontal shooter Lunaria by now but they’ve been slowly working on the main game and they plan to release a new demo at the coming summer Comiket.

Lastly they also hope to release a demo for Nichijou sekai no reigaisha which is a horizontal scrolling action game that will resemble Valis.

Touhou 12.8 Yousei Daisensou

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

cirno yome

ZUN has announced on his blog that he’ll be releasing Touhou 12.8 “Touhou Sangetsusei – Yousei Daisensou” at the upcoming summer Comiket. The art is by the Touhou Sangetsusei artist Hirasaka Makoto, and in the game the player will play as Cirno and freeze incoming bullets instead of dodging them.

I guess Cirno is the strongest and there is no need to dodge bullets at all.

French Bread is looking for artists

finally

From the French Bread blog

I’ll be announcing this on the homepage over the next days, but we’ll be recruiting people that can help with art for our next project.

We’ll be looking for anybody that likes 2D fighting games and likes drawing, and plans to go into the industry in the future or is already currently working in the industry. The character size will be pretty big, so it pretty much doesn’t feel like pixel art anymore, but it’s not done and coloured in photoshop either, I’m not sure how to explain it.

We’ll welcome people that are able to draw to a reasonably well and are motivated, even if they don’t have any prior experience. We’re currently aiming to have the game released in the arcades first (as opposed to release as doujin game before hitting arcades). People who are interested please send an email to French Bread ;; Somebody help us! Lets beat that hateful Blazblue together!

Looks like they really are going into high res sprites now!

Higurashi no naku koro ni doujin opera edition

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

daretoku

A doujin opera adaptation of Higurashi no naku koro ni will apparently be held at the Nerima Bunka center on the 13th of March, with tickets going on sale starting on the 2nd of February at 2,000 yen each. This is a doujin production, meaning it’s not official or anything.

A number of the opera songs can be sampled here. They’re Hatsune Miku versions so if you want to hear the real thing you have to go watch the opera.
