mikumiku.jpgGamepot’s Pangya collaboration event with Hatsune Miku was a new song and a new in-game Hatsune Miku costume. Though it sounds like there is still more to the collaboration that will be revealed on the 22nd of May when it officially launches.

heisamada.jpgThe Xuse guys have formed Eternal and announced their first game after moving to Will. The other Xuse scenario writer has released a doujin game. Still waiting for Xuse to announce that they’re closing…

greatgame.jpgSekai de ichiban NG na koi took only 40 days to make. Basically only the scenario was done on September 20th when they started the project, and they aimed to complete it by 22nd November. They actually needed to hire 9 other colouring guys to keep up with the pace that the artist was producing the art at.

Friday, May 16th, 2008

whatshername.jpgMelty Blood Actress again was shown at the Sega private show 2008 spring, but yeah, nothing really new that wasn’t already known before. No additional characters revealed yet, still scheduled for summer release.

spike niconico channel launched

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

damnit.jpgNiconico douga has announced today that they are starting a new video service called spike niconico channel which will be for games that are being distributed by spike in Japan. It currently has trailers games such as Bioshock and Tomb Raider, and they hope to expand to have gameplay videos and interviews.

Now I’m sure it’s completely unrelated but on the same day, niconico has started deleting tons of gameplay videos of Nintendo-owned games due to “requests from the copyright holder” such as the videos of people playing modified versions of Mario and Pokemon, and the videos of fully automatic Mario which had been pretty popular, and especially the recent one of the gumi kyoku. (it’s still up on youtube)

As a result of the deletions, the total number of videos viewed across all videos in niconico douga has dropped by 20 million views today.

I don’t know if it’s just Nintendo or if they’re planning to eventually remove all gameplay videos from the site, but this sucks.

Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper and Shinkirou

Monday, May 12th, 2008

charliesheen.jpgThe release date for Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper has been announced along with the contents of the limited edition set MEGAMORI BOX. They’ve also revealed that Irisviel will be playable in the game, and at this rate I guess Iskander and moe moe Waver Velvet will be appearing in the game too.

Also the limited edition set will contain tarot cards from 23 different illustrators including ex-SNK illustrator Shinkirou, master of Charlie Sheen faces. Together in the set is a binder book for the tarot cards, a 72 page settings book, a drama CD, and a special DVD.

That’s almost enough extras in the limited edition set for people to buy the set for the extras and ignore the actual game!

Tetsudou musume DS

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

tetsudou.jpgTakara Tomy has announced that they’ll be releasing a Tetsudou musume game for the DS where you play as a magazine reporter who travels around Japan to interview girls working in the Train industry. Tetsudou musume was a semi-popular line of figures made based on girls in train worker uniforms.

Zwei II screenshots released

Friday, May 9th, 2008

2dowata.jpgFalcom has updated their site today announcing that Zwei II will be released in the summer this year and has released several screenshots of the game. But man, the game is in 3D! Not that I have anything against 3D, but I wish they’d continue Zwei in those awesome 2D graphics.

Lucky Star, Haruhi, and Daioh

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

The Lucky Star OVA will start in the summer apparently. Still by Kyoani. Haruhi in 2009 sounds more real with each passing day!

The Wii Haruhi game will be a dance game.

momotatodaiohmada.jpgDengeki has revealed details on Akibablog about their upcoming magazine renewal that was announced last month. It involves a new logo and… increased number of pages and lower price. 900 pages and 580 yen is awesome, but I guess that means they’ll be back to using cheap paper.

Time Leap to be ported for the Xbox 360

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

daretoku.jpgThe newly released Time Leap visual guidebook has an announcement from the producer Yamakawa Ryuuichirou that they are planning to release a Xbox 360 version of their real time rendered 3D eroge Time Leap within the year. They also plan to release a fandisk for the PC within the year too.

So after being bashed for having crappy ero scenes they decide to remove all ero scenes and port it to the 360!

The ultimate ero manga (NSFW)

3×3plus2eyes.jpgOtaroad blog reports that Lass’ latest eroge 11eyes is starting to get sold out in stores in Nipponbashi. I haven’t seen many negative comments on the story for 11eyes (unlike Tsuyokiss 2), maybe I should try it out next week or something.

3111.jpgKomatsunaya has released a Hatsune Miku typing game called Byoukan Vocaloid Typing free for download for a limited time. You’re supposed to type every letter from A to Z and the lower your score the better.

panyanisiteyanyo.jpgI was watching the incredibly funny Pangya Japan Cup finals today and they made a surprise announcement that the online fantasy golf game Pangya will be having a collaboration event with Hatsune Miku. Details for the event will be announced on the 22nd.

Why are the staff credits gone from Wii Okami

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

presentedbyign.jpgThat’s what Okami director Kamiya Hideki is wondering about when he found out about it from English forums. And after confirming that it is true with the localization staff, he is feeling really downcast that Capcom would cut out the credits for everybody that worked on the game.

He also goes on to say how the staff had put in a lot of feelings into the staff credits for Okami to make it something that would suit the end of a long journey as it was also their first game with a long story and that there is nothing that saddens him more to know that everything got cut away.

Update: The official translation of the post in English and Capcom’s official reason as to why they removed the credits
