Use for doujin activities
Basically, please follow the guidelines that have been laid out so far.
Details can be found at http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Yoyo/1736/t-081-2.html (Japanese)
Also, works that were announced as doujin work are not allowed to enter commercial distribution.
* As for the contents of each doujin work, they will not be looked through on an individual basis, so please carry out any creative activities using your own judgement and responsibility.
Applying to sell commercial goods
For commercial goods, approval will be required.
A friend is helping me with going through applications now.
For industry people, please use the form to make an inquiry and we’ll get back to you.
* For commercial goods, please refrain from goods with any sexual expressions (like pillow cases with sexual expressions etc)
Restrictions on derivative works
The following types of derivative works are restricted for both doujin and commercial.
- Works selling for profit that have animation as the main focus of the product. The definition for animation in this case refers to “cel animation”, animation created using 3D software or using illustrations combined with effects are not included in this definition
- Selling through the Xbox360 indie game service
- Selling through the AppStore or Android market (for commercial use, please make an inquiry)
- Any form of distribution that expands beyond what the original is doing right now (touhou is only distributed via normal doujin distribution channels, so selling downloadable content to foreigners etc is over the limit)
- Overly sexual depictions, or anything that defames individual people, groups, or races, or anything that is determined as inappropriate according to conventional wisdom (overly sexual depictions is later defined as anything that breaks Japan law)
