Mangagamer.com is a newly opened online shopping site that will allow users to buy and download English localized “Dating simulation games”. The site has just opened today and users “will be able to purchase their High Quality Game as from July 10th 2008.”

I’m surprised that they’ve got Da Capo and Suika, and they’ve got a pretty good line up, releasing 7 games on the 10th of July.

Site sure looks completely Engrish though. I have a bad feeling about how the actual contents of the game will turn out…

CNET Japan reports that Nico Nico Douga has come to an agreement with The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA), Japan Video Software Association (JVA), and Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan (MPPA) to remove vids that are in violation of copyright belonging to members of these organizations.

This includes all fan made videos that violate the copyrights of members of these organizations. They will start deleting all existing videos that are in violation and will monitor all newly uploaded videos for violations.

AJA is made up of 34 full members and 22 associate members comprising of anime studios such as Gonzo, Sunrise, and Studio Ghibli. JVA has 35 members including Walt Disney Japan, Kadokawa Shoten, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and MPPA is made up of 4 members consisting of Shochiku, Toho, Toei, and Kadokawa Eiga.

I guess that means Nico douga is only going to be left with Touhou, Idolmaster, Vocaloid, people dancing and singing, and game vids.

Naruko Hanaharu’s first eromanga tankoubon Shoujo Material was released on the 30th of June and it was sold out in 2 hours and 30 minutes in K-Books radio kaikan according to Akibablog, making it the highest selling eromanga that they’ve had in a single day.

Other stores in Akihabara have had huge stacks of Shoujo Material on display in the stores, and many reports of long queues for the book. Senakablog also reports that stores in Nipponbashi have been doing similarly promoting Shoujo Material with their displays, with Toranoana filling 6 bookshelfs with only Shoujo Material.

AV maker TMA has put up their release schedule (NSFW) for September and it reveals that they’re releasing an AV based on seiyuu Hirano Aya and also an Evangelion AV called “EVER RE-TAKE”. The girl acting as Hirano sure looks nothing like the real thing!

Also, EVER RE-TAKE sounds like it’ll be an AV made based on the doujinshi by Kimigabuchi instead of a normal EVA parody.

A new serialization by Koge Donbo called Naki shoujo no tame no Pavane will be starting in the next issue of Comic Blade. They’re holding a character popularity poll now before the manga starts running. It has been quite a while since Koge’s last regular shounen serialization I think.

ITmedia has an article on RPGmaker revealing that the new version of RPGmaker currently in development will allow users to develop games on the PC and be able to output binaries compatible with the Xbox 360 using the XNA Game Studio Express framework.

They’re also incorporating self publishing features into the new version, and users can also be able to share the games they’ve made using RPGmaker using the XNA Game Creators Club service.

Yahoo Japan reports that a man in Akihabara just attacked a police officer with a knife at approximately 1:30 pm today and has been arrested. He was apparently being questioned by the police during one of their random checks.

Update: Sankei news is now reporting that the man was in possession of a small knife and police had confiscated it during the questioning, but the man tried to take it back, and caused the police officer to get minor injuries on his fingers.

The man was arrested for obstruction of justice.

Moon Phase has the news on White Album and the staff working on it, and they’ve apparently got Hirano Aya to voice Yuki and Mizuki Nana to voice Rina. And the art for the game will continue to be by Kawata Hisashi while the character designs for the anime will be by Yoshinari Kou.

Also the PS3 version of the game will have the SLG elements taken out and White Album will be a pure AVG game. The songs White Album, Sound of Destiny, and Powder Snow from the PC version will still be used in some way even if they have new songs for the OP and ED.

The story for the anime will be different from the game.
